The Swedish art historian Karl Asplund made a mistake when cataloguing the three plates, which was to be repeated in all subsequent publications.
The illustration he labelled "Grandmother I" in the 1920 catalogue actually shows the first state of the third and last plate "Grandmother III".
Loys Delteil published the correct classification in his 1909 catalogue. If one places the work catalogued by Asplund as "Grandmother I" over the second state of "Grandmother III" with a black background (coloured green here), it becomes clear that both impressions were printed from one and the same plate.
A print from the destroyed plate from Mora was used for the montage shown on the left.
